Hats are worn on heads to keep the sun from getting in your eyes. Nobody likes when the sun is in your eyes. It can blind you and then you can't see which is really bad for you because you won't see and you can run into poles and walls. It hurts when that happens. You could break your nose and stuff like that. It hurts your eyes and they could catch on fire. Well i don't know about that. But yea and so don't let the sun get in your eyes!
